Backcountry Ski Trip

Last weekend Loren and I and my brother and some friends did some backcountry skiing up on Berthoud Pass.  My buddy Donny Roth, a ski guide with Alpine Ambitions, took us up and gave us a little avalanche education work.  Although I’ve spent countless days up on the hill on a pair of skis, its a whole different world when you need to become aware of where and how you’re skiing and traveling through the backcountry.  It was a really fun weekend.  I learned a ton and got some sweet runs in in the powder!  Saturday was pretty brutal, it being-10 degrees and windy and all, but Sunday was bluebird and “warm” so it made up for it!Donny guides all over the world.  Check him out if you want to ski in a cool place and learn some backcountry awareness on the way.     Thanks for checking in                                                                                       click on image to enlarge
