beachin it before the tour de Georgia
April 20th, 2008 Posted in NewsThe Georgia coast is s nice change of venue in more ways than one. I was enjoying relaxing on the beach for a few minutes yesterday, taking in the relative heat to what I’ve been riding in lately. I was home in colorado recently braving some snow in training while some of my teammates were hammering through the harsh wet weather of the northern classics. Also, it marks a big change in the tour de Georgia route. With a new start, a team time trial, and a different mountain stage, it will make my 4th tour de Georgia seem like a different race, which is exciting. The ttt will be an excellent tune up for the same event in the Giro next month. Luckily we have a very strong team here suited to the ttt and the decisive climb up brasstown bald. Yesterday we had a little ttt practice on the roads outside savannah. Good thing we are fast on the bike, as we pretty much had to train at highway speed behind the car due to the lack of good roads for riding off the island! We must have been a good site for the tourists, 8 guys rotating at 35 mph behind the team car! Hopefully we can replicate that speed minus the car at the ttt on Thursday! You can plan and talk all you want to prepare for the ttt, but at the end of the day, for slipstream its just going to be about being confdent and just going fast! Oh, and our secret weapon Allen Lim edition aero helmet modification, but you will see that on Thursday.
Keep watch for some big rides from slipstream this week and thanks for checking in!
