Crazy Colorado Springtime weather

My first week back at home in Colorado was met with some classic springtime in the Rockies weather. My wife and I hung out at her house up the hill in Nederland, where it is still very much winter, for a couple of days. After a restful weekend and a hike with the dogs in the snow, I woke up and proceded to back the car into a big snowbank on the unplowed driveway and get it stuck. 30 minutes of shoveling ensued. I arrived in Boulder hoping for a 3 hour TT training ride, but was greeted by a blinding blizzard. As I readied myself for a boring ride on the rollers, the snow let up a bit and i started putting on all my clothes for a soaking wet and cold mountain bike ride. But while I was doing that, the snow stopped, the clouds lifted, and I went riding on my road bike for 3 hours with only a vest on. By the evening we were sitting on the deck having a BBQ with friends. If you don’t like the weather, just wait 15 minutes. The saying has definitely been true this week.

Coming up for Ian and I are a few long days on the bike, braving the snow, in preparation for the Tour de Georgia next week.
