First Annual Just Go Harder Scholarship
April 24th, 2009 Posted in NewsWe are truly proud to announce the creation of the first Just Go Harder Scholarship to offset coaching and training fees to give a deserving aspiring athlete the opportunity to enrich their life through participation adn mentorship in sport. We chose to give the first scholarship to the organization that has been so much a part of our lives as we grew in skiing and cycling, the Lake Eldora Racing Team.A big THANK YOU to all our donors to help make this scholarship possible. The first recipient is Rose Filer at the Lake Eldora Race Team in Boulder, CO. The Just Go Harder Scholarship enabled her to offset the costs of her 2008-09 ski season. She worked with her coaches in dryland and on-snow training to dramatically improve her Giant Slalom and Slalom technique and compete at United States Ski Association-Smartwool and Elite F.I.S. in the Colorado region.
“I have been racing with the EMSC team for about ten years. Each year has given me amazing opportunities and experiences. I have learned – and am still learning – how to ski well and enjoy life. Besides that I have discovered the importance of a good attitude, sportsmanship, dedication, and perseverance. I believe that being on the EMSC team has helped make me the person I am and I do not know what I would do without it. All of this has been made possible for me through the scholarship I have very graciously been given for the last few years. Because of my scholarship I have been able to attend training regularly thought the week, special camps, travel to other resorts, go to races, and work on making my way up through the ranks of ski racing. I love ski racing more than anything and it is all because of my scholarship that I am able to continue racing every year. “
