Gettin Cold
November 7th, 2008 Posted in NewsIm happy to be a month into training now, its exciting to be back on schedule again! Even with some hard rides I am recovering well and I feel like I am really recovered from my head injury. Its been easy to get some good rides in lately here in Boulder as our Oct/Nov so far have been really mild. Ive actually just been riding in shorts and a jersey, even up in the mountains! Usually we’ve had a few days of snow here in town by now. When I was ski racing several years ago, our local ski area, Eldora, would open for the season November 1. Its kinda scary to think that on November 3 this year I was hiking behind the same ski area at 10,000 ft wearing a T shirt. Finally this week the weather turned a bit though. I woke up and had to put on a bunch of warm clothes to go out and ride in the cold and cranking wind, classic Boulder, CO winter weather! Yep, that felt normal again, doing intervals at a 45 degree angle into a raging cross wind. Fun stuff!Im looking forward to next week here in Boulder for Team Garmin-Chipotle’s first get together camp for the ‘09 season. We’ll have the whole team in my hometown for meetings, planning, a little bit of riding, and some good times. Should be fun. Speaking of that, don’t miss the Garmin-Chipotle Team Launch Event at the Boulder Theater on November 22. Come hang out with me and the rest of the 2009 team for a great evening. We’ll show a pilot of a documentary that has been following us around filming the last year and a half, and introduce the team and some Q and A time. It would be great to see everyone ome show their support for my team! Thanks for checking in, I’m heading out for a mountain bike ride in the cold…luckily its not windy yet….
