HAPPY EASTER!!! and Pais Vasco Wrap Up

April 12th, 2009 Posted in News

Dont have a whole lot to write home about on the recent Vuelta a Pais Vasco.  It is a really hard race with some crazy spring weather, 7 or 8 catgorized climbs each day, and a stellar field.  You know the field is going uphill fast when the gruppetto out the back consists of guys who have won KOM jerseys in grand tours. Christian had a good day in the break on the 4th stage and nearly took home the win.  Mostly I did a nice job of filling in the pack each day.  This race was actually really good for me to get the rhythm of a ProTour field and get my confidence and comfort level back to where it should be after a long time out of competition.  I’m finally feeling adjusted to the level of intensity I need in these races, so thats a good feeling.Hope everyone is having a happy Easter at home on the warm couch watching my teammates slog it out at Paris Roubaix today! Thanks for checking in
