Home for a week

Just got home from the most epic travel day ever. I try not to complain too much, but this day really was quite long. I’ll give the short re-cap, but feel free to skip along in this entry ;) The day started at 6am in Malaysia, first a 30min bus ride to the airport, arriving a with a little more than two hours till the flight left. 4.5hr flight to Taiwan, 1hr off the plane the right back on for a 11hr flight to LA. Then I had 8 hours to sit in LA! I attempted to fly standby but of course the flight was full, finally the 2hr flight home to Denver was delayed about 4omin. I finally arrived home in Golden at 11:15pm last night. 33 hours of travel, at least I slept well last night!

Team Type 1 had a good showing at Langkawi. We finished 2nd overall in the team classification and put two riders in the top 20 not too bad for a new team considering we were setting up new bikes and putting on new team clothes for the first time in Malaysia just before the race started. Personally I was a bit frustrated after a hard winter of training to get sick. But I am feeling better now. I’ve got a week of easy training and then it’s straight back to California for training camp.

I have also added a few more photos from Malaysia, I personally like the Monkey eating a Cliff Shot – thanks to Ed Beamon for that one.
