if its a sprint, might as well be short!
April 21st, 2008 Posted in NewsThat’s how sprinter stages should be. Short and to the point. There is nothing I hate more than doing 200km of flat only to finish in a big bunch. So the tour de Georgia organizers had it right today. with only 110 km of racing, we raced, sprinted for the finish in a giant, angry elbow-throwing ball, and we were back at the hotel in time for lunch and a nap. Nice! Unfortunately, the sprint didn’t go well for us. We were looking good with a few kms to go when our sprinter, Tyler, flatted on one of the 600,000 railroad crossings we negotiated today. It was a little to close to the line to get him back up there at 60kph, but out on the road he picked up some bonus seconds and now sits 4th overall.
I’m chillin right now doing our new secret recovery technique: the astronaut boots. They fill with air and squeeze up your legs like one of those snakes that swallow eggs. So its kind of like a lactic acid flushing massage, although I don’t want to replace our soigneurs with them just yet. Check back to see how chippy the post astronaut boot legs are tomorrow!
Thanks for reading

Timmy and Ian,
Thanks for the regular updates on progress. It’s cool to get the inside scoop on what’s happening during and between races. There’s good on-line coverage of the Tour de Georgia, so this will be a good week watching Slipstream and Team Type 1 kick some butt.
The first batch of the JustGoHarder blend was good, btw.
Cheers,
