Moto bike down
March 14th, 2008 Posted in NewsToday we did a finishing circuit with an absolutely ridiculous hill that we went up twice, with the finish at the top. After 150km or riding, everybody starts throwing elbows to arrive on the circuit in good position for the climbs and multiple rollers. We went up the climb, only 2 km, the first time and I was blown away. I thought I might have to walk. It was everything I could do to keep moving forward. It would have been nice to have a 27 today for sure. After the first time up only a small peloton remained. My team mate Ryder and I started at the front the last time, and I just hung on as long as I could. Ryder finished a good 13th place, and I had the bad luck of having a police motorcycle crash right in front of me with 150 meters to go, and it blocked the narrow road. So I stood there for what seemed like forever and when I could start again it was to steep to get going, so I had to run with my bike until it flattened out! Never had to do that before. That was absolutely the most difficult hill I have ever ridden a bike up.
Thanks for checking in
