prologue-Tour de Romandie
April 28th, 2009 Posted in NewsClassic euro travel day yesterday…taxi was late, plane was late. 45 min drive to hotel after arrival in Geneva. Then it was raining and cold so I rode the trainer to get rid of the airplane legs. Can someone please tell me why so often the hotel shower has only the shower head on a handle laying in the tub, so that you have to hold it to wash yourself? You have to set it down to lather up, unless you know some graceful way to hold the nozzle over your head while you wash with your free hand. How hard is it to put a freakin thing on the wall that you can hang the nozzle on?!?! Typical. Really takes the pleasure out of a warm shower after riding in the cold eh? After getting up for the UCI antidoping testers to take some blood, there was more cold and rain this morning, so we rode the trainers again. Just a couple hundred meters up the hillside by our hotel you could see the snow accumulating. The prologue isn’t until the evening so we have some time to get a warmup ride in and sit around a while, eat, get prepared, all day long for a 4 minute effort. Kindof like a ski race I guess. Stand around and wait all day for the 3 minutes that really count.
At least if its raining its over quick!
Thanks for checking in

Not only do you often have to hold the shower head with one hand, but I also remember places that had no shower curtain so you were spraying water all over the room.
Was good to see you on Versus
