Skiin…
December 12th, 2008 Posted in NewsWinter finally arrived and inspired me to take in the ski scence a bit. Loren and I went to Beaver Creek last sunday to watch the mens World Cup GS Race. It was really exciting, as USA’s Ted Ligety won the first run, but lost some time in the 2nd run to lose the race by only 1/100th of a second! Crazy how close that is. We had a beautiful day and ran into a lot of old ski racing buddys. We did it up euro style with the slopeside picnic of wine and cheese while watching the race. Good times! A few days later it started smelling like cows in Boulder, which if youre from here you know that that means thats surely its gonna snow the next day. The upslope weather pattern that brings snow to the front range also brings the smell of the feedlots in Greeley, an hour to the north. So it was smelling like poop so Ian and I decided to go skiing the next day. We headed up to Winter Park and endured some cold temps for a couple skinny cyclists but we survived. Our manager Michael is a WP local so he showed us the good runs. Then the next day of course it was warmer and the snow melted so back on the bike again! Thanks for checking in, hope to see you sunday at the Boulder dedication event!
