Start of a new season

While Timmy has been doing his part in keeping you all up to date I have been slacking. Sorry!

Just got home late last night from Team Type 1′s training camp. The first four days we were in Santa Barbara doing some movie star photo shoots. I mean movie star – the photo and video crews that we worked with were working on a full on Nascar shoot the week before. We had RV’s to hang out in, RV’s for hair/makeup, RV’s for changing, the best catered food I have ever had, and there were people on hand just to make sure that we were happy. However, we weren’t happy, we would sit around all day not allowed to ride as to keep the bikes and clothing clean, then do a 20min ride with a half dozen people snapping shots that were all staged. It would have been great in December, but come the end of January we need to train. But, the real bottom line is that we do whatever the sponsors need, cause in the end they are who pays the bills! Oh, and not matter how bad it was we still say ‘thanks!’

After the four long days of photos and video we headed up to Buelton CA for some real riding. The weather was perfect everyday! We spent a week dialing in equipment and putting in some long rides with new and returning teammates. The end of camp was topped off with Team Type 1 taking its first victory in its first race of ’09! It was a small race but a win is a win.
