Time for a break
March 30th, 2008 Posted in NewsThat wasn’t quite how I was hoping to end the first racing block of my season. Stage 2 of Criterium international started out at full gas at 830 am on a big hill…..and I was out the pipe after about 10km, my asthma knocking me out again. Luckily I’m headed home to boulder now for a bit of r and r and a little preparation before the tour of Georgia and the Giro d italia. So, watching my teammates race in the cold and wet and hail later on that day, I was oddly envious. The worst feeling in the world for me is when health interferes with my ability to do my job, both for myself and for my team. Its frustrating but all you can do is get healthy and get at it again next time. I was reminded that there are still 6 more months left in the season and a couple bad days shouldn’t bum me out too much. So, its back to Girona tonight, pack some stuff and head back across the pond tomorrow. Can’t wait for a giant coffee and a big burrito waiting for me on the other side.
thanks for checking in,
