US Pro road race
September 4th, 2008 Posted in NewsIt wasn’t exactly the best day I’ve ever had on a bike. In the first corner of the first km of the race, a moto bike crashed forcing much of the field to stop. After I’d come to a complete stop another rider hit me from behind causing my bike to break. After a not-so-quick bike change from team type 1’s unlucky draw of car 16 I was apparently 2minutes down before that race had even completed the first of three opening short laps. It took 20kms of all out chasing on the bumper of our team car to catch the field. I still had hope that I would have the legs to make it over the top of the final climb with the front group, but I didn’t. It was a big dissapointment to have good form and high expectations going into the race and to fall short. Luckily, the championships will be returning to greenville next year…
Congrats to Tyler Hamilton who I’m sure will have a sweet national champion jersey from Rock Racing, and a ‘good ride’ to Blake who came oh so close. For Team Type 1; Chris Jones saved the day a bit with a solid 8t.
