Vuelta Burgos Wrap Up
August 11th, 2009 Posted in NewsMy Garmin teammates and I concluded a solid week at the Vuelta Burgos, hopefully a prelude to even better things in the Vuelta Espana next month. After rolling and windy stages Tom and Danny put us in great position going one-two in the time trial with Tom then taking over the race lead. The final day was a brutal climbing day, with 5 huge climbs in the last 50 km. We kept Tom fresh as long as we could and he made a great effort to finish on the overall podium, just missing out on the win by a handful of seconds. Im really happy to see Tom back to his normal self again. Its been a while!I was feeling a little flat and sluggish after a few weeks of recovery, but San Sebastian and Burgos served to wake the body back up for a big final part of the season for me. I’ll be at the Tour de Limousin and GP Plouay next week and then the Vuelta will be here before we know it!Thanks for checkin in
