World Championships…USA!!! USA!!!

September 20th, 2009 Posted in News

I’m truly honored to have been selected for the United States squad for the 2009 World Championships next week in Mendrisio, Switzerland.  Although I’ve done two worlds at the under-23 level, this will be my first professional worlds.  We will have a strong squad of all rounders to tackle the 260km and 14,000 ft of climbing on offer at the race on Sunday.  4 of the 9 riders on the squad are me and my Garmin teammates, and the others are good friends and racing partners, so although we come from different trade teams I think the group will mesh well together for a good race.  After a quick week at home in Boulder I’m heading back to europe this week before worlds, and then ill do the one day classics at the end of the season.  Theres finally a light at the end of the tunnel for whats been a long year!  After pretty much taking last season off, I will have raced this season the longest season possible, from Tour Down Under in January all the way to Giro di Lombardia in October and everything in between.  At this point in the year its just all about how motivated you are, and Im excited to still be feeling really good and going strong. Also, real soon, look back here for a signed jersey from my 2009 Tour of Missouri winning team on auction at the Pros Closet to benefit the Just Go Harder Foundation! Thanks for checking in

    Huge news!
Well-deserved recognition for big efforts at Romandie, Dauphine, Missouri, and many others.
The course looks like 19 counterclockwise loops of Lee Hill & Olde Stage. Just your style.
